‘…and we shall die like gentlemen.’
Some of Robert Falcon Scott’s last words as he realised his fate was sealed and there would be no successful return from his Antarctic expedition of 1912. 100 years ago and, while we may have been to the moon in the intervening years, Scott’s journey (and those of his men) still has few comparisons.
